DESCRIPTION OF FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

 

McAfee has a made a major commitment to globally scale its search marketing activities to become the search leader in its field.  We are looking for an experienced search marketing professional to help lead and coordinate this effort.  Based in Sunnyvale, CA, you will work with teams worldwide and report to an experienced senior marketer. 

 

Roles & responsibilities:

  • Act as central coordinator for McAfee's global SEO and paid search marketing efforts, working with local marketing leads, external agencies, and internal engineering departments.
  • Work with internal and external partners on both strategy and tactical implementation of all components of paid search including keyword selection and optimization, bidding strategies, copy testing, landing page testing, analysis, and reporting.
  • Serve as day to day contact with account managers across multiple marketing partners/agencies.
  • Become primary internal evangelist for SEO best practices, helping inform and educate business owners and web designers about ways to design and optimize sites to fully exploit SEO opportunities.
  • Work with cross-functional teams, including search marketing, design, product management, and engineering to optimize impact of search marketing efforts.
  • Work with managers across multiple business segments (consumer, mid-market, enterprise) to ensure each unit’s search goals are met while maximizing synergies for the company.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • 5-8 years marketing experience including mandatory 2 years experience leading search marketing for a large company involving multiple countries and product types.
  • Demonstrable experience using search marketing to drive consumer-driven revenue, and preferably additional experience driving B2B/ enterprise demand through lead generation.
  • Deep understanding of SEO techniques and how they can be applied to complex, multi-segment/country/product sites.
  • Understanding of best practices in landing page optimization and other conversion tactics, preferably with experience in the analytical tools (Offermatica, etc.) which facilitate these improvements.
  • Preferred: A candidate with experience consolidating search activities from disparate suppliers/agencies into a common agency.
  • Ability to effectively work with engineering teams to map product requirements and site changes necessary to support search initiatives.  Strong project management skills.
  • Highly analytical with a strong ROI-mindset.  Proven dedication to maximizing the value and impact of each marketing dollar spent.
  •   Solid communicator at all levels of the organization including senior management. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:

  •   BS preferred.  BA candidates will be considered given demonstrated technical competence and interest.
