Positions Overview:

 

Protecting confidential data is one of the top priorities for CIO and CSO’s.  McAfee offers industry’s most complete Data Protection solution.  As Competitive Product Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for researching competitive information and producing competitive marketing materials to help field sales compete effectively against other security companies in the data security area. You will be working in a lab environment to conduct hands-on evaluations of McAfee and competitive products.  

 

Location: Santa Clara, CA

 

DESCRIPTION OF FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Conduct competitive research.  Master market dynamics and be an expert on companies and products in a market

·         Author competitive documents that will be used by sales, engineering, product management and Executive teams. For example: competitive analysis, whitepapers, presentations, and news flashes.

·         Provide suggestions to improve McAfee products

·         Implement and evaluate various McAfee and competitive products in a lab environment.

·         Perform product installation and general lab maintenance.

·         You will be responsible for defining hardware & maintenance needs, configuration specs, and upgrades requirements.

·         You will be an integral part of the marketing team, providing input and helping with launch of new products.

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

·         2+ years hands on experience with encryption or Data Loss Prevention technologies.

·         Knowledge of encryption and hashing algorithms or Data Loss Prevention technologies and how they are implemented in typical enterprise customer environments.

·         Experience in security, cryptography, and/or data storage technologies is preferred

·         Knowledge of authentication credentials deployment and management (RSA tokens, smart cards, biometrics, etc.) is preferred.

·         Knowledge of data security market and the major players is a big plus

·         Prior sales or product marketing experience is a plus

 

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:

·         Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks in a dynamic environment.

·         Strong written and verbal communication skills

·         Strong technical knowledge and ability to install, maintain and test data security products.

·         4 years of college, relevant technical certification(s) or experience is required

5+ years of technology marketing experience, with 3+ years direct experience in an enterprise-focused sales and marketing environment.

A passion for hardware products, including PCs and PDAs, and direct experience in enterprise mobility solutions

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to communicate technical ideas to non-technical audiences

Strong analytical skills

MBA or equivalent experience preferred

Dash is preparing to launch the first Internet-connected GPS device in early 2008 and the Web will be a critical component in its advertising and customer acquisition efforts and is looking for a Manager of Online Marketing to join our growing Marketing team. We are looking for a smart Web-savvy marketer with solid SEO experience to manage our Internet marketing programs.

Responsibilities:

This individual will be responsible for coordinating all of Dash’s Internet advertising and online promotion activities, as a part of the company’s positioning and branding campaigns. He/she will oversee the planning and buying of paid search and banner advertising by agency partners, as well as initiate and manage online viral initiatives and promotional partnerships.

This individual will be expected to test and (where successful) optimize new and innovative ways to reach Dash’s potential customers online. He/she will also be responsible for the dash.net website, including constantly optimizing its organic search ranking. The successful candidate will monitor and report on the success of the online initiatives and continuously optimize each initiative and the overall online mix to maximize awareness, understanding, and purchase (both online and at retail) of the Dash device.

A successful candidate must have demonstrated success in online media planning and buying, for both organic and paid search optimization. Must be “Web 2.0 savvy” individual with a detailed understanding of current online advertising and partnership trends and opportunities.

Professional Experience

Search Marketing Skills:

• Implemented Search Engine Marketing Strategies to optimize returns.

• Extensive use and knowledge of Search Engines and Search Engine Optimization.

• Produced Pay-Per-Click marketing campaigns for a wide range of companies.

• Developed in-house SEO/PPC marketing strategies from the ground up.

Online Marketing Skills:

• Designed and launched collateral and creative for E-mail Marketing campaigns.

• Established best practices for Search Engine Optimization and Online Marketing practices.

• Initiated Web Analytics to produce web site statistics for reporting and testing purposes.

• Utilized Social Media Marketing and Optimization to increase brand awareness and web presence.

Other Qualifications

• Creative, positive attitude, quick learner, with excellent writing and communication skills.

• Proficient with Mac and Windows, Google, Yahoo and MSN Search Marketing Systems.
