The MHHE Digital Products Group has an outstanding opportunity for a Product Manager based in New York, NY.
The Product Manager will develop innovative digital products and product lines that are uniquely responsive to both market demands and the needs of students, instructors and higher education institutions. These products will be based on rigorous empirical, field and theoretical educational research and will meet the demands for research-based strategies and solutions within the education domain.
Responsibilities:
· Develop the vision for each product through extensive investigation of market demands, education research, user feedback, practitioner expertise and competitive analysis.
· Thoroughly document and articulate the vision and business case for each product and gain buy-in from stakeholders across the organization.
· Collaborate closely with product analysis and implementation partners as they create wireframes and prototypes and define functional requirements to ensure cohesion between product vision and implementation.
· Partner with other teams, such as Sales, Support, Product Services, and Marketing, to assimilate the best and most current thinking about each product from across the organization.
· Collaborate within the Product team to ensure cohesion across all product lines and coherence of product strategy.
· Design and lead ongoing field research, including student and instructor interviews, observations, and focus groups
· Continually collect, distill, and disseminate foundational research to inform product development
· Create documents and presentations describing the research foundations of our products for marketing, sales, and training purposes
· Track competitive professional development landscape, keeping abreast of new innovations and developments in the market space
· Responsible for envisioning and defining product line that will generate up to $50 million annually within 3 years.
· Responsible for supporting sales of all products within product line, including training to ELearning Consultants when necessary.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree; Master’s degree preferred
· 7-10 years experience in related field
· Creative, strategic and innovative thinker
· Strong knowledge of education industry
· Strong project management and documentation skills
· Proven success at collaborating across teams of technologists, designers and client-facing staff
· Excellent writing and oral presentation skills
· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, think-on-your-feet business environment
· Demonstrated ability to enter new situation and effect change
· Ability to lead and manage simultaneous projects
· Deadline-conscious, results-driven, and high-performing in a high-intensity environment
· Willingness to travel up to 30%
