Senior Product Marketing Manager

As the evangelist and product expert, you will do just that! 

 

Reporting to the VP Marketing, you will be responsible for bringing a line of our software and products to consumer and small business markets. You’ll manage the process through all phases of product life cycle, from product definition through launch to end-of-life. You will develop and implement a product strategy around our consumer and small business markets that will result in additional offerings based on our award winning solution for OEMs, distribution partners, and to consumers directly through the Web. Our ideal candidate is a passionate, experienced software product marketer with excellent positioning and messaging skills who has successfully delivered consumer-grade security or systems applications before.

 

Responsibilities

·         Is the lead evangelist for multiple lines of products – create positioning, messaging, programs and more.

·         Works with Sales and partners to drive business growth.

·         Leads cross-functional product team to accelerate product life-cycle planning, decision-making and execution.

·         Works closely with senior management and Engineering to define high-level product goals.

  • With VP Marketing, defines and implements the marketing direction and strategy for DigitalPersona products.
  • Conducts competitive analysis and market research.
  • Provides high-level product definition and priorities.
  • Develops product packaging, pricing models, collateral and positioning in the marketplace.

·         Defines and implements product launch strategy and programs for maximum market awareness.

·         Acts as a customer advocate.

·         Works with Business Development and Partner Marketing to identify target ISVs and build relationships.

·         Represents product to press, analysts, partners, customers and other influencers.

 

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years experience with at least 7 years of product marketing or product management experience with the following environments/types of products: consumer applications or systems software; consumer-product user interfaces; web services applications; security or biometrics desirable.
  • Previous successes in launching consumer-grade (and preferably also business-user) software products to market by managing the product life cycle from definition to end-of-life.
  • Excellent positioning, messaging, project management and negotiating skills are absolutely essential.
  • Superior oral and written communication skills.
  • Must possess strong marketing and business sense along with a proven technical aptitude.
  • Must be willing to work both at the strategic and tactical levels in order to get the job done.
  • Should be reasonably technical and have experience working with sales professionals selling solutions.
  • Must demonstrate strong leadership with proven track record of making product teams a success
  • Must have experience engaging directly with customers in pre-sales calls.
  • Experience creating innovative lead generation programs to drive interest.
  • Small company experience desirable.
  • Experience in partnering with other companies to provide wide “go to market” coverage a definite plus.

 

 

Education

  • BS/BA (Business or Technical preferred), or equivalent combination of education and experience. MBA a plus.
