Our client is a fully-funded, late-stage private company backed by some of Silicon Valley’s most prestigious, elite venture capitalists. The company, a pioneer and developer of core network services appliances, today serves over 1500 customers worldwide and has distinguished itself as the undisputed market share leader (IDC) in its sector. The company is at significant production revenue run rate and is expanding rapidly. Led by an elite team of renowned Silicon Valley executives and next-generation technology experts, the company is positioning for an exit in the 12-18 month timeframe.
This is a unique and exciting opportunity for a talented and aggressive product marketing professional to join a successful, proven pre-IPO company in full stride, and to participate in the capitalization of its world class technology and market dominance. Only the most promising, startup-ready candidates will be considered.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing on new product introduction plans, creation and delivery of marketing collaterals, and other marketing related activities as deemed necessary. The position will report directly to the VP of Product Marketing and will work extensively with the marketing, product management, R&D and sales teams on various projects and deliverables.
Responsibilities
> Participate in the product launch process with responsibility for creation of key collateral including data sheets, technical white-papers, competitive briefs, product value/benefit presentations, etc.
> Deliver validated business cases, ROI models, etc. to the sales teams for the solution sets.
> Work with the Trade Shows and Events Manager to deliver product positioning and all necessary content for trade shows and events; participation at the trade shows will be required.
> Active involvement in the content creation and format/design for website.
> Assist with competitive evaluations with a focus on delivering outbound marketing collateral on competitive analysis.
> Conduct ongoing and ad-hoc market, price, customer, and competitive analysis.
> Participate in research and analysis activities, in conjunction with the Business Development team, focused on M&A opportunities.
> Ad-hoc marketing related projects as deemed necessary by management.
Requirements
> 5+ years relevant experience in marketing and/or business development positions in the network industry
> Effective written and verbal skills required.
> Person capable of working effectively in a team environment and on independent projects requiring minimal supervision.
> Self-starter with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
> Prior experience with venture backed startups highly desirable.
