Position Description:

We are looking for an energetic/visionary person to help create the future of motorsports programming across all media platforms – broadcast, interactive, iTV, wireless, gaming, etc.  As Motorsports Product Manager, you must have: a proven track record of excellence in product and project management; strong technical, leadership and interpersonal skills; creative vision and demonstrable experience in developing compelling content across a variety of media platforms; and a strong interest in and knowledge of motorsports.  You will be responsible for investigating and evaluating new and alternative technologies, conducting product feasibility studies, managing projects and deployment, and related competitive and market analysis.  Position reports to the Vice President of Product Management.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

-          Working externally with our media and league partners, and internally in conjunction with our Business Development and Media Production groups, develop an understanding of market needs, formulate product directions, and support the development of proposals

-          Lead new motorsports product development within Sportvision

o        Assess feasibility, define product feature sets and functionality (including relative prioritization), and formulate product directions

o        Set content strategy

o        Understand key technical issues and find optimal solutions for them

o        Identify key dependencies, uncertainties, and most important areas for risk management

o        Develop Product Descriptions and Product Roadmaps that clearly specify products, services and plans

o        Manage feature prioritization and delivery schedules

-          Investigate and evaluate competitive offerings and related markets

-          Develop business plans and financial forecasts

-          Manage client relationships with motorsports customers

-          Working with Operations and Engineering, coordinate deployment of new products and services


Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for this job will have creative and production experience across a number of media platforms – broadcast, interactive, iTV, wireless, etc.  We are looking for a Product Manager with the vision, creativity and rigor to help us win, big! The following skills and attributes are also required:

-          BS/BA; MBA preferred

-          3+ years experience in Product Management and/or Product development experience; ideally in broadcast, online, video gaming, wireless, interactive TV or fantasy sports.

-          Well honed marketing and financial analytical skills

-          Demonstrated technical background; knowledge of television production technologies

-          Passion in and knowledge of sports; with a particular emphasis on motorsports

-          Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills and work well in a team environment

-          Strong track record of successful leadership; ability to lead and influence decisions through productive debate.

-          Frequent travel required

Job Scope:

The Product Manager will be responsible for product planning and execution through the full product lifecycle including:

- Managing and improving our software development process, product manufacturing (OEM), quality assurance processes, materials sourcing, and inventory control methods
- Providing project management including estimating development and production times, staffing requirements, and related costs
- Managing and participating in the QA process and taking corrective actions
- Developing and documenting the product from design to delivery
- Working with supplier representatives to ensure materials requirements plans are completed and orders are sourced and received in a timely manner
- Working with the team to run proof of concept and prototype programs with early-stage products and demos
- Qualifying manufacturing and assembly processes
- Understanding and responding to competitor strategies to improve our differentiation and improve our products
- Supporting customer/partner relations and expectations management

Required experience and knowledge:
- MINIMUM of 3+ years prior hands-on software product management experience
- MUST HAVE deep software development and project management skills
- Technical background with experience in GPS navigation, surveying, mapping, robotics and/or machine control
- MINIMUM B.S. or B.A. degree in engineering or computer science-related field
- Experience with embedded applications, C/C++, Linux, Solidworks, MatLab
- Ability to prioritize, document, and articulate next-generation product and solution requirements based on vision and market opportunity

Responsibilities

·         Is the lead evangelist for multiple lines of products – create positioning, messaging, programs and more.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years experience with at least 7 years of product marketing or product management experience with the following environments/types of products: consumer applications or systems software; consumer-product user interfaces; web services applications; security or biometrics desirable.
  • Previous successes in launching consumer-grade (and preferably also business-user) software products to market by managing the product life cycle from definition to end-of-life.
  • Excellent positioning, messaging, project management and negotiating skills are absolutely essential.
  • Superior oral and written communication skills.
  • Must possess strong marketing and business sense along with a proven technical aptitude.
  • Must be willing to work both at the strategic and tactical levels in order to get the job done.
  • Should be reasonably technical and have experience working with sales professionals selling solutions.
  • Must demonstrate strong leadership with proven track record of making product teams a success
  • Must have experience engaging directly with customers in pre-sales calls.
  • Experience creating innovative lead generation programs to drive interest.
  • Small company experience desirable.
  • Experience in partnering with other companies to provide wide “go to market” coverage a definite plus.

 

 

Education

  • BS/BA (Business or Technical preferred), or equivalent combination of education and experience. MBA a plus.

Description:
A Sr. Product Manager must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. Product Manager

Location: SAN MATEO, CA

As a Product Manager at Siperian, you will be responsible for guiding the development and launch of new products as well as increasing the profitability of existing product lines. You will use a combination of your keen business sense and technical mojo to analyze market conditions and gather customer and prospect requirements in order to focus and align resources across the company to deliver compelling products.

Responsibilities:

-                    Specify market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research, competitive analysis and capturing requirements from customers and prospects

-                    Assess and prioritize tradeoffs that affect features, schedule, cost, positioning, pricing and competitive positioning

-                    Evaluate 3rd party products for technical and business synergies

-                    Develop and implement a company-wide go-to-market plan, working with all departments to execute

-                    Evangelize the product vision and value proposition to internal and external audiences, including sales, analysts, customers and prospects

-                    Write, review, edit & present technical and functional product management and product marketing collateral including MRDs, presentations, webcasts, white papers and data sheets

-                    Support sales, solutions delivery and SI partners when needed through product demos, presentations and product input for RFP's and RFI's

Requirements/Qualifications:

-                    Minimum of a BA/BS Computer Science or related technical degree required. MBA or Masters degree would be a plus

-                    At least 6+ years of high-tech industry experience

-                    At least 3+ years Product Management experience focused on enterprise software

-                    Strong technical mojo required with prior hands-on software development experience and intimate familiarity with the full Software Development Lifecycle

-                    Strong understanding of Internet architecture, XML, application servers and web services

-                    Strong understanding of RDBMS principles and usage such as data modeling, data warehousing and Operational Data Stores

-                    Solid understanding of UNIX/Linux and Windows operating systems

-                    Experience required in one or more of the following areas such as Customer Data Integration, Master Data Management, CRM, EAI, EII, ETL or data quality

-                    Implementation experience with Siperian Hub would be a plus

-                    Process oriented with excellent written and oral communication skills

-                    Ability to multi-task and be adaptive in a fast-paced environment

-                    High energy, strong team player with a good sense of humor

-                    Demonstrated experience working with broad cross-functional teams with ability to sell ideas and plans to internal constituencies, executives, customers, commercial team, analysts, and partners
