Senior Product Manager

Summary:    
My  client is looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead customer driven innovation for the company’s primary offering in the tax preparation marketplace.

This web-based application that enables tax professionals to automate the capture and classification of their clients’ data turning client paper and digital tax documents into well-organized electronic files– indexed, accessible, editable and ready for faster, more accurate data entry and review.  The application is the first web based application to “read” and classify data from paper-based forms and PDF files with greater than 90% accuracy across thousands of variations of IRS documents.

Primary responsibilities:

Conduct customer, market, and competitive research, including on-site visits with customers to deeply understand customer problems and needs

Work across the tax preparation ecosystem to create a seamless complete offering

Internalize and represent the "Voice of the Customer" to the team throughout the product lifecycle

Interpret business needs and behaviors to develop overall vision, detailed written requirements and roadmaps. Establish priorities and trade-offs

Lead multiple cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that surpass customer expectations, working closely with Product Development, Marketing, and Support.

Participate actively in all stages in the software development lifecycle


Qualifications:
BS/BA required, MBA or technical Masters Degree preferred
4-6 years technical Product Management experience
Strong communicator – the ability to communicate with both business and technical people across cultures and geographies both written and orally, leading meetings, presenting to groups, writing detailed requirements, etc.
Experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact results
Experience in tax or accounting is a plus
Track record of strong collaboration with cross-functional teams leading to successful product launches
Skilled in prioritization, organization, and time management in a fast-paced environment with conflicting priorities
Critical business analysis skills – ability to hone in on real business impact and sorting through anecdotal reasoning, comfortable working with analysts and quantitative analysis
Knowledge of software and internet technologies like html, Java, Javascript, Ajax, etc. required
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
