Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop market-specific value proposition, promotional collateral that include creation of product presentations, collateral, newsletters, broadcasts and other opportunities to build awareness of the product lines supported.

Develop business requirements for future versions, including direct customer feedback of product improvements and needs back to product management; making sure market requirements are contained in product implementation and meet/exceed market expectation.

Influence demand generation strategies and execution.

Coordinate and plan events with Field Marketing that promote and educate 3Com, Business Partner's and customers.

Create and maintain sales tools including competitive positioning.

Develop content for web site, support creative "look and feel" and key messaging for products supported

Influence and articulate SMB roadmap.

Work with product management, thought leaders and field marketing to build cohesive plans, including but not limited to positioning, messaging launch plans, and channel go-to-market strategy.

Skills and Experience:

10+ years Product Marketing experience; Channel experience and a Technical background a plus, as is experience in product management and network communications/ telephony.

Excellent presentation and communication skills, both written and oral, a must.

Must be well balanced between solid business/marketing expertise and execution within a lean organization.

Ability to excel in a fluid, cross-functional team environment; self-motivated with strong attention to detail.

Creative individual who takes ownership and brings to the table solid solutions and deliverables.

Strong time management skills.

Experience in Channels outside North America with VARs, DMRs, SIs and Distributors.

Ability to travel 25% of time, domestic and international

Qualifications and Education:

Bachelor's degree. Advanced degree in business preferred. Ability to speak a foreign language fluently a plus.

 

Bringing the "Voice of the Customer" and the market into the product management team, this person is responsible for driving Small Medium Business (SMB) products/solution requirements into 3Com’s SMB portfolio roadmap. This position will work closely with Field Marketing, Product Management and Corporate Marketing teams, Worldwide, as well as collaborate with Channel Partners and their organizations to resolve business issues and respond to opportunities most relevant to the success and growth of certain product families, channels and vertical markets in the SMB line of business.

The Product Marketing Manager (PMM) is expected to assist in the creation, articulation and delivery of key messages and build cohesive marketing programs, deliverables and plans which align with business objectives and deliver quantifiable results. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Directs the development of company market requirements for the high speed packet products • Monitors the development of business plans, managing lifecycles and product positioning in the marketplace. • Establishes product pricing strategies. • Develops business plans and product positioning in the marketplace. • Experience with networking product, L23 switches, routers, and high-speed interfaces. • Experience working with the federal government. Overall Purpose of Job:
Lead product marketing in security and emerging technologies to ensure success of new product roll outs and drive product direction. Responsible for driving products/solution requirements into 3Com’s security and emerging technology portfolio. Role requires being key of contact for account teams and "Voice of Customer" into the product development teams. This position work closely with field, marketing engineers, product management and corporate marketing teams and collaborate with direct and indirect sales channels and their organizations to resolve product issues most relevant to the success and growth of the business. Product Marketing Manager is expected to assist in the creation, articulation and delivery of key messages and the product roadmap, build cohesive marketing programs, deliverables and plans and launches which align with key business objectives and deliver quantifiable results. Role is part of the Enterprise Business Unit, reporting to Senior Director of Product Marketing.

Duties and Responsibilities:

•Develop business requirements for future versions, including direct customer feedback of product improvements and needs back to product management.
Develop all content support creative "look and feel" and key messaging for products supported Develop market-specific promotional collateral, demonstrations, and tutorials including creation of product presentations, collateral, newsletters, broadcasts and other opportunities to build awareness of the product lines supported.
•Work with product management to build a cohesive marketing plan, including but not limited to positioning, packaging, and pricing
•Provide sales force training and sales support and create and maintain sales tools
•Coordinate and plan events that promote and educate 3Com, BP's and customers with field marketing including content creation for monthly newsletter and field alerts as well as demand generation strategies and execution
•Support Customer Advisory Council with other product marketing team members
•Conduct biannual customer survey
•Win/Loss analysis, competitive comparisons

Skills and Experience:
5-12 years related experience

•Must be well balanced between solid business/marketing sense and the execution aspects of the job- having a strong marketing background a must.
•Excellent presentation and communication skills, both written and oral

•Strong project management and coordination skills required and ability to excel in a fluid, cross-functional team environment
•Ability to develop understands and applies use-cases to support decision making
