PRODUCT MANAGER
FOR ONLINE VERSION OF A BUSINESS PUBLICATION

1. PURPOSE: The primary goal of the Associate Product Manager and Product Manager positions is to help drive the overall development of product strategy for Our Client and to execute on that strategy. As Our Client pursues a new strategy of competing for Internet traffic and advertising dollars within the business & information segment, it must develop new competencies. These include: approaching the development of new features/applications from a formal software development perspective, using current product management methods and elevating the voice of users above all others in helping set our product priorities. Our Client is looking for talented, self-motivated, hard-working technical strategists to guide our products through conception, development, and eventually, launch. This position will have direct impact on increasing Internet traffic to Our client (page views and unique users). Each major product managed by a product manager will have measurable traffic results (e.g. how many users use the feature measured in terms of page views and unique users). Revenue will directly flow from this traffic and can also be measured.
5. KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE: Describe the knowledge and skills needed for competent performance of the position. Specify why the knowledge or experience is required by referring to how it is used in performing the essential accountabilities.
· BA/BS in Computer Science, related technical field (MS or MBA a plus) OR equivalent industry experience with a non technical degree.
· 3-8 years experience in a software or online environment (either in an enterprise or consumer software company).
· Interest in, and knowledge of, new and "bleeding-edge" technology.
· Excellent written and oral communication skills.
