We seek a Senior Product Marketing Manager to help expand Webroot’s leadership in the consumer security market.   Our ideal candidate is a passionate, experienced software product marketer with a mix of strategic and tactical skills who has successfully delivered consumer-grade applications before.

 

Responsibilities

 

·     Go-to-Market Strategy- Define and implement the product launch strategy and programs to achieve business objectives

·     Product Messaging/Positioning- Develop high impact and differentiated product positioning and messaging. Deliver source content to drive marketing program execution and review deliverables.

·     Product Roadmap/Strategy- Identify and champion customer/market requirements within the product roadmap planning process.

·     Market/Channel Development- Working with Sales and Regional Mgmt, identify, analyze and prioritize opportunities for new programs, channels and markets.

·     Market Research-Work with Market Research Director to define objectives and research methodology to gain greater insight into customer segments, attitudes, preferences and behavior

·     Product Launch Planning- Drive product launch planning.  Coordinate all launch activities and provide guidance to the cross-functional product launch team.

·     Competitive Analysis- Closely monitor marketplace for competitive moves.  Work with Product. Management and Competitive Intelligence managers to identify and communicate competitive differentiation

·     Training- Develop key sales and channel training materials covering industry trends, product value proposition, and competitive position. Deliver training to internal and external audiences in support of channel development opportunities.

 

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

 

·        Bachelors degree in a business or technical discipline required; MBA preferred

·        8-10 years of strong product marketing experience with progressively increasing responsibilities 

·        Prior industry experience in consumer technology strongly preferred and PC security software experience is a plus

·        Must be able to work both at a strategic and tactical level in order to get the job done

·        Must be a master at creating clear, differentiated, and customer-focused product positioning and messaging

·        Must be a self-starter with proven ability to take initiative and experience successfully prioritizing competing deadlines

·        Must have excellent follow-through, be able to work with minimal direction, and balance the requirements of multiple stakeholders within an organization

·        Must be flexible and enjoy working in an extremely fast-paced environment

Senior Product Manager
Location: San Mateo, CA
NextLabs is looking for an experienced product manager with strong technical background and excellent communication skills. The Senior Product Manager is a product line owner for all aspect of product management from requirements to releases and drive new product strategy and future product direction. This individual will use market and competitive analyses and customer needs to define product strategy, lead initial technical investigations, and drive cross-functional projects with teams across geographies. The Senior Product Manager will also work directly with other groups in providing positioning and marketing content to Marketing, delivering product training to Sales, and developing partnerships with Business Development.
Responsibilities include:
  • Define product requirement, product roadmap, and product strategy.
  • Lead Product Development in initial technical investigation.
  • Drive cross-functional projects to successfully deliver products.
  • Develop marketing collateral, including datasheets, whitepapers, and Website content.
  • Deliver sales training with product presentations and demonstrations.
  • Search for and integrate solutions with complementary partners to build an effective ecosystem.
  • Support Proof-of-Concept and Pilot activities with key accounts.
  • Present product features and architecture to customers and partners by leading the discussions.
  • Participate in business development efforts by assisting Sales and Services teams with proposal development, account strategy, and execution of sales tactics and partnership development activities.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert both inside the company, and externally with customers, partners, and industry analysts.
  • Work closely with other Product Managers to address existing and future customer and market development opportunities.
Required skills and background:
  • 3+ years of work experience in an enterprise security or enterprise applications product management role.
  • Ability to write clear and convincing MRDs and detailed PRDs.
  • Outstanding analytical and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Designing user interaction and UI mockups.
  • Leading cross-functional and cross-geographic teams, and managing multiple projects.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture and experience in software development with Microsoft Office, Windows, Linux, or Unix.
  • Ability to understand application and system architecture
  • Experience in software development with J2EE or .NET applications
  • Familiarity with DLP, IPS, IAM or enterprise endpoint and network security technology.
  • Familiarity with identity and access management products.
  • Familiarity with access and authentication standards such as XACML and SAML. 
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Computer Science degree or equivalent experience.
  • MBA preferred.

(JOB) TECHNICAL PRODUCT MANAGER - ENTERPRISE AND WEB 2.0

This hands-on Technical Product Manager is responsible to help continue innovating and building demos, proofs of concept and prototypes as well as collaboration with international teams including teams worldwide.

Responsibilities

- Identify new product opportunities, analyze existing enterprise services offers of worldwide competitors

- Research and anticipation of new ideas, new technologies and new methodologies to speed development time and increase the level of innovation

- Gather & define business requirements and functional requirements

- Work closely with cross-functional team of developers, analyst and architects to build new products & features

- Evaluated relevant products, technologies available in market or through open source, test and benchmark it's features

- Software design, development & testing

- Create high quality whitepapers on emerging technologies, services etc. and articulate the findings to management and business units

- Internal/ external communications, networking with Silicon Valley companies & participating in internal/external industry events

Qualifications

- Minimum 5 years of software development experience in which 2 years in Product Management & Web 2.0 domain

- Good understanding of Enterprise 2.0, Software-as-a-Services, Web 2.0, API, search & collaboration topics

- Very strong software development skills, starting with functional requirement analysis, high level and detail level design, implementation, testing, and integration

- Self-starter who is highly organized, learns quickly, and is a team player

- Strong sense of business issues in the enterprise software

- Excellent written and oral communication skills is a must

- Strong organizational skills; ability to handle multiple parallel projects and keep to deadlines

- Proactive leader who takes initiative and demonstrates a high level of accountability

- A critical skill is the ability to identify new features for the service/solution and document, design, code, test and integrate the newly developed features with the existing platform

- BS/BA Computer Science or Engineering (or equivalent) is required

Technical skills:

- Previous experience with architecting and/or developing complex enterprise software & applications

- Good understanding of new industry trends (SaaS, collaborative communities) and new IT Management software players (e.g. OpenNMS, GroundWork, Splunk)

- Good understanding of IT management internals (SNMP, MIBs, log files, proprietary protocols)

- Good expertise in programming languages: J2EE, C/C++, AJAX, Flex & scripting languages (PHP, Python, etc…)

- Good system-level skills

- Familiar with open-source oriented technologies & architectures

- Good experience and knowledge on developing application on Linux & Windows OS

- Exposure to Business Intelligence tools (example: JasperSoft) and Web 2.0 collaboration tools (Wikis, blogs, forums, etc..) is a plus

Additional requirements

- This position requires collaboration with teams in Europe, which may imply trips to Europe for short periods of time travelling

- Skilled at writing technical reports for an international reader (decision makers, managers, technical experts)

- Basic knowledge of testing new enterprise software(s) for benchmarking its features
