Director, Product Management

Responsibilities

- You will be responsible to lead the effort of defining Schooner's product portfolio, solution offerings, and long term roadmap
- Develop an internal new product introduction process that's appropriate for Schooner.  Drive product requirements definition. Work with founders, engineering team and other internal teams to develop product strategies and manage the product development process from conceptual stages through product life cycles.  You will also play a leadership role in the go-to-market and launch efforts. 

- Develop close relationships with customers and technology partners.  Collect ongoing customer feedback on how Schooner products are being used and provide feedback to internal teams and incorporate feedback into product development.   

- Identify new product ideas and improvements.  Build the appropriate business case to justify the investment. 

Requirements:

- Prefer educational background from top tier schools, also extensive background working with middle sized software firms / software startups successfully

- Must exhibit clearly "out of the box" thinking in past positions,  Highly skilled in both tactical and strategic skills critical
- 10+ years of product management experience.  - Must have extensive experience marketing to data centers, including the Web 2.0 space
- Extensive experience with either appliances, systems Software, or OS products

- Broad experience in other marketing, customer facing, and general business related functional areas such as product marketing, business development, and SE highly desired. 
- Solid track record getting products released successfully to market
- Enthusiastic, performance-driven self-starter and a team player.
- Ideal candidate would have BSCS, BSEE.  MBA preferred.

Director, Product Marketing

Responsibilities

- You will be responsible to lead the effort to define Schooner's overall marketing plan and go to market strategy.  Specifically

- Establish Schooner as a thought leader with innovative products which will enable customers to do "what they are unable to do today" and the business and operational values they will gain.

- Develop the content to tell the above story and deliver through a wide spectrum of vehicles to reach our target audience, such as web, direct marketing, PR and AR, training, customer community groups, and co-marketing with partners...  Go beyond conventional marketing thinking, tactics and vocabularies to leverage new media (e.g. user generated content, viral, guerrilla marketing)

- Work with corporate marketing to develop plan to grow the Schooner brand, including "marketecture" and product naming methodology to show Schooner's long term vision and product positioning

- Explore new business models through pricing and packaging analysis to position Schooner for long term growth.

- Conduct marketing segmentation analysis to continue to refine understanding of market trends and customers needs 

- Lead product launch process and deliverables.

 

 

Requirements:

- Solid product marketing skills when dealing with technical content for difference audiences (e.g. technical and non-technical, executive level and non-executive level) 

- Strong leadership and influencing skills with the ability to make recommendations and decisions independently

- Self-starter with the ability to work in a very fast paced environment

- Ideal candidate would have BSCS, BSEE.  MBA preferred.   

- Candidate should have experience with both "startup" and mid-large sized firms

Primary Responsibilities

• Work with end-customers and partners to identify and prioritize product requirements and develop MRDs for our consumer-facing mobile and web applications
• Work with cross-functional team to define features in detail including the user interface, logic and navigation
• Interface closely with engineering, marketing, customer support, and sales to create and launch product
• Work with marketing to develop training material and product collateral
• Perform market and competitive research to define product strategy and roadmap
• Organize and conduct usability tests and customer advisory panels
• Hands-on flushing out of usability problems and bugs, then ensure that we fix them
 
Requirements
REQUIRED: Three or more years experience in requirements gathering, MRD creation, use case development, user interface design and product release/launch for software applications
• User interface design experience with web-based or mobile applications is required. Experience with consumer-facing applications is a plus.
• Bachelors degree required; BSEE or BSCS
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Proven ability to work with cross functional teams and work closely with engineering
• Very detail-oriented
• Experience in a fast paced startup environment a plus
• Position is based in the South Bay

Job Description

TeleNav is looking for a Product Marketing Manager to assist in all aspects of marketing, from conducting market research and developing sales collateral to assisting Sales on specific opportunities. As the Product Marketing Manager you will be responsible for implementing go-to-market and on-going marketing activities with existing and new customers to drive marketing intelligence, revenue and brand awareness. The Product Marketing Manager will work closely with Sales and other members of the marketing team.

The Director of Product Marketing will drive product marketing and product go-to-market strategy and execution for NextLabs Enterprise DLP and Compliant Enterprise product lines.  In this role, she or he will work with Product Management, Corporate Marketing, Sales, Alliances, and Executives to create product positioning and messaging, develop sales tools, define and drive product go-to-market and product launch programs across multiple vertical markets and sales channels.
