Responsibilities:
  • Understanding and analyzing customer needs and business processes
  • Defining product roadmap and strategy
  • Working with Sales, Business Development, Customer Service, Finance, and Engineering teams to define, develop, and launch new products and features
  • Creating demos and other product marketing materials

Requirements:

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, or related technical field (Master's degree is a plus)
  • Proficiency in HTML and Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point
  • Passion for online advertising and building world-class products.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Able to learn fast, multi-task, and solve complex problems
  • Strong technical and analytical abilities

The Product Manager for Taleo Performance Management is a key strategic position within Taleo. As the Product Manager for Taleo’s Strategic Performance Management suite of products, you will be responsible for staying current on global market trends, tools and capabilities, interfacing with clients and prospects to understand their needs and key business drivers, and exploring new market opportunities to expand the overall reach of our solutions. You must maintain a careful balance of future vision, near term opportunities, customer requirements, business savvy and management of day-to-day product issues. This position is very dynamic and you must be comfortable with frequent multi-tasking between technical, businesses, strategic, marketing and planning activities.

Responsibilities:
  • Create and continuously refine a differentiated and innovative product/solution roadmap
  • Employ various approaches to gathering requirements including competitive and market analyses, understanding of emerging technologies, interviews, focus groups, structure analysis, storyboarding and more.
  • Research and maintain product and feature level competitive intelligence
  • Identify, evaluate and functionally integrate third party software and service providers when needed to deliver complete solution
  • Write product requirements documents and product enhancement request documents
  • Command a full understanding of the intended solution and negotiate software development priorities with departmental stakeholders in executive management, marketing, sales, services, product development, architecture, and production operations.
  • Work with Product Marketing team to identify and craft appropriate product positioning and go-to-market strategy
  • Provide first line knowledge transfer and education on new products to all internal audiences including Marketing, Sales, Support, Consulting, Training Quality Assurance, and Documentation teams
  • Attend and participate in industry related events and tradeshows to maintain visibility and market awareness
  • Support sales and services as needed in regards to your product category, including formal presentations to clients and prospects
  • Present new release functionality via customer webinar/live meetings and internal review sessions to market the new release to customers
  • Periodic Win/Loss interviews with prospects/clients
  • Maintain Product/Solution Success Scorecard to continuously track and improve product-level financial success, customer adoption trends, product quality metrics, and more.

Qualifications:

  • Expert proficiency and passion for performance management applications, including direct hands-on experience designing and using performance management solutions.
  • Extensive knowledge of one or more of the following: Goals Management, Career Planning, Succession Planning, Development Planning, Staffing management, Compensation Management, Learning Management and Human Resources solutions; Enterprise applications (SAP, Oracle/Peoplesoft); Databases (Oracle, SQL Server, DB/2)
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Thorough understanding of Internet technologies
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation & persuasion skills
  • Strategic vision with the ability to translate into an actionable plan
  • Strong customer orientationExcellent written/oral communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to make decisions independently and/or as part of team
  • Willing to travel up to 50%

Community Manager

The Community Manager plays a key role in Pragmatic Marketing's online initiatives. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, this position is responsible for developing and maintaining the company's online community and content to maximize accessibility, usability and effectiveness. With Pragmatic Marketing's leadership role in technology product management and marketing, a background in one of these disciplines is essential.

Experience in motivating members to interact and leverage distributed models of content contribution by virtual editorial teams are mandatory. The ideal candidate will have developed tools to stimulate online usage and content creation along with a proven track record of delivering active self-managing communities of content-contributors. Experience developing online editorial policies to attract stimulating content and avoid litigation is also needed.

We are looking for a hard working team member, who has a fierce attention to detail, an eagerness to learn new things, with a strong interest in the field of technology product management and marketing. Knowledge of the Pragmatic Marketing Framework is a must.

Required Experience

Domain expertise in technology product management or marketing with knowledge of industry trends, events and thought leaders.

1-3 years in online community management including online chat or forum moderation. Ability to write original content or blog is definitely preferred.

Familiarity with the latest industry developments regarding online communities and associated technology.

Strong background in user-driven web-based tools (forums, message boards, blogs, etc.). Familiarity with web site content management systems desired, Plone experience preferred.

Job Responsibilities

Manage all aspects of the Pragmatic Marketing community offering and, working closely with others in the web site team, its relationship to in-house created and user-contributed content. Develop and manage processes/policies for all aspects of the online community.

Serve as an official spokesperson to the community. Develop trust, and an online persona that generates loyalty within the community. Analyze, understand and prioritize the needs of the community. Use community feedback and experience to contribute to the design, vision and utility of the site.

Keep community website properties updated with fresh content. Moderate message boards for appropriateness and answer community inquiries. Manage online events.

Create effective community outreach including viral programs, online chats, exclusive content, etc. to ensure the continued growth and success of the online community.

Assist in online marketing research and strategic planning.
