Kachingle, a Silicon Valley based startup that monetizes online content with a generalized crowdfunding system, seeks an experienced technical product manager with user interface design skills to finalize the flow of our Web 2.0 application and complete the definition of a few areas of the product.

Our goal is nothing less than to save great content from an untimely demise, since online advertising does not work as a revenue stream for much of it. In particular we believe our transaction-based business model can help support the best journalists, the best news sites, the best blogs, the best content sites of all types whether they be created by individuals, groups, corporations, or non-profits. Content clients we are in partner discussions with include some of the largest media companies in the world.

The Kachingle software is in alpha status...what is needed is the final fit-and-finish, improved UI flow, and product definition of a few areas.

To qualify you must have outstanding technical skills such as basic HTML, Photoshop, Excel, etc. and serious experience working on a Web 2.0 application such as digg, StumbleUpon, Twitter, or the like. We primarily use Pivotal as our tracking tool.

You must be extremely detail oriented down to the last byte/pixel/character.

The right candidate will have specific deep experience in most if not all of the following areas:

user interface flow and design layout
Paypal integration
Facebook integration
Blogging and blogging platforms, blog templates
Social networking
page layout
high volume Web 2.0 services (e.g. >1M registered users); massive scaling from a user interface POV
browser compatibility issues

· Must be able to work both at a strategic and tactical level in order to get the job done

As part of Crimson’s Interactive Services, Consultant needed to drive and own the development of our clients applications and services. The Product Manager works closely with Product MKTG, Biz Dev and senior mgmt to turn requirements into (tangible) products and services. This critical position works with Engineering, developers, UI design, research, QA, Beta and third party outsourcers to create and turn PRDs and functional specs into reality. This position requires a passion for user-experience and first-hand experience in the design and launch of native and hosted apps.

What we need

The Product Marketing Manager will report to the Vice President of Marketing and will play a key role at Jobvite during a period of significant growth and opportunity. Additional responsibilities include:

Collect and manage customer requirements and translate findings into concrete product plans.
Develop sales tools, web content, product demos and interactive content, marketing materials.
Develop market and competitive analysis and market segmentation; track technology trends.
Contribute significantly to positioning, messaging and brand strategy.
Provide direction and content to the web marketing team to help create successful lead generation activities.

What you bring to the party

Previous experience in software marketing is essential; some knowledge of the human resources software space and Software as a Service would be ideal.

3-5 years experience in software product marketing or product management.
Ability to quickly understand product and market dynamics.
Knowledge of product planning with outstanding organizational and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

· Is the lead evangelist for multiple lines of products – create positioning, messaging, programs and more.

· Works with Sales and partners to drive business growth.

· Leads cross-functional product team to accelerate product life-cycle planning, decision-making and execution.

· Works closely with senior management and Engineering to define high-level product goals.

With VP Marketing, defines and implements the marketing direction and strategy for DigitalPersona products.
Conducts competitive analysis and market research.
Provides high-level product definition and priorities.
Develops product packaging, pricing models, collateral and positioning in the marketplace.

· Defines and implements product launch strategy and programs for maximum market awareness.

· Acts as a customer advocate.

· Works with Business Development and Partner Marketing to identify target ISVs and build relationships.

· Represents product to press, analysts, partners, customers and other influencers.

Requirements

Minimum of 10 years experience with at least 7 years of product marketing or product management experience with the following environments/types of products: consumer applications or systems software; consumer-product user interfaces; web services applications; security or biometrics desirable.
Previous successes in launching consumer-grade (and preferably also business-user) software products to market by managing the product life cycle from definition to end-of-life.
Excellent positioning, messaging, project management and negotiating skills are absolutely essential.
Superior oral and written communication skills.
Must possess strong marketing and business sense along with a proven technical aptitude.
Must be willing to work both at the strategic and tactical levels in order to get the job done.
Should be reasonably technical and have experience working with sales professionals selling solutions.
Must demonstrate strong leadership with proven track record of making product teams a success
Must have experience engaging directly with customers in pre-sales calls.
Experience creating innovative lead generation programs to drive interest.
Small company experience desirable.
Experience in partnering with other companies to provide wide “go to market” coverage a definite plus.

Education

BS/BA (Business or Technical preferred), or equivalent combination of education and experience. MBA a plus.
